Rough Terrain Farm is owned by Leslie B. Haynes. A British Horse Society certified riding instructor, Leslie has extensive training in Natural Horsemanship, dressage, and driving.
Carriage Driving Training
Leslie utilizes Natural Horsemanship, round penning, and de-spooking techniques to build a solid foundation from which to train horses, ponies, minis and Very Small Equines to drive both for pleasure and competition (CDE's).
Private Lessons
She offers private lessons in basic horsemanship, long lining, and pleasure and competitive carriage driving for adults and children (ages 6 and up), at her farm or at yours.
Boarding for Horses in Training or Horses Recovering from Injury
In her private five-stall barn, Leslie boards horses in training, horses recovering from injuries, and horses for visiting farm guests who would like to take lessons or ride and drive in the area. Located at her house just up from the main barn, she has access to the indoor arena for lessons and training, as well as the half-mile race track and miles of woods trails and country roads.
Co-op Boarding Barn
A co-op boarding barn is available to VTC Equine Studies students and area residents who provide their own care and feed.
Home of VTC's Equine Studies Program
The main barn and indoor arena at Rough Terrain Farm are leased to Vermont Technical College's Equine Studies Program and is run by the College. For more information contact Program Director Jessica Riley at 802-249-0092.
